The area in Northern Uganda was devastated by the atrocities committed by the LRA (Lord's Resistance Army).

Many children were kidnapped and forced to commit unspeakable acts.

Many families were forced to live in camps.

To survive, many children were forced to rob and steal just to put food in their mouths.

Girls often turned to prostitution.

Education became impossible.
-
Whole communities were destroyed.

Many families were affected to HIV/AIDS.
-
The majority of OVCs (orphaned and vulnerable children) have little or no support and very little means of receiving an education.
