Support the Children of Uganda
V4G has chosen Keframa College
in Lira, Barr Sub-County in northern Uganda as the school we will be
supporting. The children in Lira are mainly orphans and very poor and
they desperately want an education.
Keframa wants to become self-sufficient, so they do not have to depend upon donations or government support. To this end, they are planning to start a small brick-making business. They will incorporate science, math, and other business-related courses to encourage entrepreneurship.
On December 4, 2010 Volunteer4Good hosted a successful Charity Poker Tournament to benefit Keframa. We raised almost $400 that will sponsor some of the children's education.
